About
The Minnow/Aquarium project is made up of two parts:
Minnow - A “toy” general purpose programming language with a Ruby-inspired syntax with actor primitives baked in, mostly to experiment with syntax and compilers.
Aquarium - The supporting library for efficient actor-based programming. Aquarium current features:
- Low overhead actor creation, actor deletion, and messaging between actors
- The ability to isolate actors who might be unable to guarantee returning from library calls in a timely manner.
- Automatic re-balancing of the actor workload across schedulers
